Healthcare Gateway receive prestigious Holyrood Digital Health and Care Award

A project Healthcare Gateway completed with NHS Dumfries and Galloway to roll out the Medical Interoperability Gateway (MIG) enabling real-time patient data has won the prestigious Holyrood Digital Health and Care Awards 2023 for Industry Collaboration.

NHS Dumfries and Galloway completed a pilot project with Healthcare Gateway, becoming the first in Scotland to roll out the MIG, connecting 31 GP practices across the region providing clinicians with real-time access to patient data, supporting faster and safer care.

The Industry Collaboration Award highlights partnerships between innovative private sector vendors and the public sector, and the crucial role they play in achieving wide scale transformation of health and social care services. The award recognises a supplier that has demonstrated effective collaboration with a public or third sector client to deliver a successful digital transformation project.

“We are so thrilled to win this Digital Health and Care Award in partnership with Healthcare Gateway and Cambric. The benefits for time saving efficiency and patient safety by having GP patient level data available across Acute and Community clinical workforce in real time is fantastic.”

“We’re delighted to be recognised at the Digital Health and Care Awards for industry collaboration. NHS Dumfries and Galloway have led the way to provide access to real-time patient data in Scotland and we’re proud to be the interoperability solution to help them achieve this, so healthcare professionals can deliver more informed, joined-up care and enhance the patient journey for residents across the region.”

Healthcare Gateway is now also providing comprehensive MIG data in Cambrics Morse EPR solution, which provides secure mobile records to healthcare professionals who are working in the community or away from their normal place of work.

We’ve been shortlisted – HTN Awards 2018

Healthcare Gateway and the Lancashire Person Record Exchange Service (LPRES) have been shortlisted in the Paperless Project of the Year category for the HTN Awards 2018.

The LPRES programme enables the sharing of crucial health and social care information via a Health Information Exchange (HIE) platform supplied by Tiani-Spirit UK. The platform is supported by the Medical Interoperability Gateway (MIG) and uses Documents Services to send clinical documents to over 300 GP practices.

“The Medical Interoperability Gateway enables health and care organisations to exchange any type of clinical document and the LPRES project demonstrates the benefits of electronic document transfer. It’s always a pleasure to work with LPRES and it’s fantastic that the hard work of both teams has been recognised.”

“We are extremely proud of the LPRES programme of work and the partnership we have nurtured with Healthcare Gateway and in particular the MIG team. The programme has provided many benefits that are centered around putting the citizen at the heart of care provision in Lancashire and South Cumbria and empowering care givers with real-time, accurate information to support improved patient outcomes.”

“Underpinning an effective, efficient, integrated care system is the secure movement of data across all organisations involved in the delivery of that care. LPRES in partnership with Healthcare Gateway has brought about improved patient care by addressing the issues associated with silos of information, stored within legacy systems, across multiple organisations. We enable relevant patient information to be available to authorised members of the clinical and social care teams in order to support timely patient care. With patient consent, data from the GP record, acute and community providers is made available across the health economy with access to the information controlled and auditable.”

The winners of the HTN awards will be announced on 7 November at 19.00 through the HTN digital channels.
