Under a two year contract, MIG services have been mobilised in the area. Enabling feeds of patient data from Surrey Downs CCG, which serves a population of 300,000 patients, into Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust using the MIG Detailed Care Record (DCR). Additionally, providing feeds of data between four GP practices utilising TPP SystmOne, 34 GP practices using EMIS Web, and TPP and EMIS community organisations run by Surrey Downs community care services. More specifically, three data sharing instances have been achieved using MIG DCR:

  • Feeds of primary care data established from EMIS Web GP practices into TPP GP and community organisations.
  • Flows of data from TPP GP instances into the EMIS Web GP and community organisations are also now in place using the MIG Primary Care Interoperability Service.
  • EMIS Web Community Viewer has been mobilised to provide data from the EMIS Web community organisation into the CCG’s TPP GP and community instances.

The adoption of MIG services provides real-time feeds of patient data, when and where it is needed. The trust’s previous challenge in facilitating the seamless integration of clinical systems limited clinician’s ability to provide efficient and informed care. Therefore, the trust required the MIG as an effective solution to achieve improved co-ordination of care across organisational boundaries. The mobilisation of the MIG DCR is improving care pathways by providing access to GP and community data for clinicians within one single system. Supporting the provision of care across primary and community care instances in the region. Facilitating more informed clinical decisions and satisfactory patient outcomes.

The MIG Managed Service has been an essential support in achieving the trust’s interoperability goals. Providing expertise at every step of their digital transformation. From project scoping of the region’s complex clinical system infrastructure, through to implementation. Our dedicated teams continue to support the trust in the deployment of tailored interoperability solutions at a scale and pace that suits their needs.

The benefits of DCR

  • 24/7 access to ten categories of live patient data, including patient summary, medication and diagnoses.
  • Holistic views of patient data in a single application.
  • Provides access to Specialist Datasets, used to support and plan complex care.
  • Reduction in duplication of effort and errors in patient management.
