Service Discovery Locator

The Service Discovery Locator is an online directory which identifies patient data from organisations which are connected to the Medical Interoperability Gateway (MIG).

Unlike other technologies, the Service Discovery Locator uses automatic look up to find patient information held by the GP, community and social care organisations.

It provides an excellent solution for large cohorts of patients as it quickly identifies all the available information about a patient. This makes it easier for clinicians to provide informed treatment decisions without any prior knowledge of the patient’s medical background.

Clinicians can use the Detailed Care Record to extract individual views of patient data from the specific organisations.

Information is returned in a consistent, structured format. This allows systems to automatically consume new views of data from new organisations without further development.
