The Detailed Care Record (DCR) provides ten categories of information from a patient’s GP record.
It gives healthcare professionals 24/7 access to live data which can help them to make informed clinical decisions faster. Data can be viewed in a single application and shared with other organisations to provide integrated care for the patient.
The DCR provides the following information:
- Patient summary.
- Medication (current, past and issues).
- Risk and warnings.
- Blood pressure measurements.
- Encounters, admissions and referrals.
- Patient demographics.
DCR can also provide access to specialist GP data. This additional information can be used by healthcare professionals to support care planning for conditions such as dementia, cancer, heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Find out more about our Specialist Dataset.
How does DCR compare to the Summary Care Record?
Unlike the Summary Care Record, DCR uses live feeds of patient data instead of a data repository. This means healthcare professions at the point of care will have access to the most up to date information about the patient.
DCR provides additional information which isn’t currently available through the Summary Care Record. This includes a patient summary, diagnosis, procedures and examinations.
What’s the cost?
The Detailed Care Record has a fixed annual charge, which is based on the number of patient records you’d like to share. To find out how we can tailor a package for you, call 0845 601 2642 or request a quote.
